I am an Australian architect with extensive experience in the building industry, both in the Public and Private Sectors with international work experience in England, America, China, Dubai, Japan and Asia.

I lived and worked in South East Asia for 7 years and have been working in the region since 1980.

I have existing networks in South East Asia and have worked with the Asian Development Bank for a University in Palembang Indonesia.

I therefore have a working knowledge of ADB funding and some remaining contacts within the Bank.

During my time in Malaysia, I worked extensively in Macau, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the Philippines, as a principal of a Malaysian Company responsible for the design and production of all the major commercial and residential projects in Asia, with a team of 25 people.

The commercial projects consisted of large scale residential projects, luxury condominium complexes, High rise office and Sports facilities.

Upon returning to Australia, having confidence in the Asian Market I set up a company, Architecture Oceania to service Australia and Asia.

In Australia, I was directly responsible for the Harbourside Festival Markets, Darling Harbour and the Manly Wharf Retail development, together with numerous residential projects.

During that time, as Operations Director, I managed the office, which grow from 8 to a peak of 85, with an annual turnover of AUS$4.5 million in fees.

This role involved the strategic management of the company, monitoring and programming all projects to ensure profitability and efficient work practices, working with the CADD manager to write macros to automate window & door scheduling etc., as well as writing the Quality Assurance manual for certification and staff training manuals.

In short, all aspects of running a busy architectural practice.

As part of our business plan, I established a joint venture office in Malaysia and moved to Singapore specialising in Retail and Sports Facility Design..

In Singapore, I resigned as Director of Architecture Oceania and remained in Singapore as the Project Director for the Bugis Junction Retail, Hotel and Commercial Development for Keppel Land ( SIN $385 million).

This involved the design and documentation of the project with a team of 45 people, as well as directly controlling the retail design of the project.

Returning to Australia after the completion of the Bugis Junction Project, I became the Retail Director for Rice Daubney in Sydney, Australia, personally responsible for the design and documentation of various large scale retail projects.

During may professional life I have written and executed business plans to architectural companies such as Rice Daubney, Architecture Oceania, and Tony Masters Design.

In each case, it involved working closely with the Board of each company to develop change management structure appropriate for each organization within the international and Australian market context.

After completing this work, I embarked on my own practice designing and documenting projects ranging from individual houses of AUS $3.6 million to residential projects of 900 units, AUS $120 million.

The practice grew to the point that I integrated my practice with a larger company of 50 staff  in 2005 as an Associate Director, to manage the increased work load.

During this time, my children had graduated and I set my sights on getting back into the international community to be closer to Europe where my children were finishing their education.

I joined Crone Partners Dubai office as Managing Director Commercial, to manage the office and oversee major commercial office developments in Dubai Festival City, Dubai.

As a direct result of the Global Financial Crisis, I moved back to Australia and joined GroupGSA as an Associate Director, Design managing large residential, resort hotels, student housing, educational and aged care projects.

After being approached to master plan a major residential and retail project, I started my own practice CK World Design in 2012, based in Sydney.
